Surgical Contrast Light

Engineered for precision

Surgical Contrast Light (SCL) from BrainLit is an advanced surgical lighting system designed in collaboration with OR teams. It enhances visibility, reduces glare, and supports visual precision in modern operating rooms. With plug-and-play components, auto-configuration, and seamless integration, SCL ensures precise, comfortable, and efficient lighting for surgical teams.

Why upgrade OR lighting?

Traditional white ceiling lights can cause more harm than good in modern operating rooms. They create glare, wash out surgical monitors, and strain the eyes of surgeons and staff. Turning off these lights leaves essential team members in the dark while forcing surgeons to work with overly bright screens.

SCL solves these challenges with a smart, integrated lighting system that enhances contrast, reduces eye strain, and supports every phase of surgical care.

How SCL works

SCL replaces harsh white light with scientifically selected complementary colors, creating a balanced, functional visual environment. Broad-spectrum green light enhances contrast in endoscopy, radiology, and laparoscopy, while red light behind the surgeon minimizes screen reflections and distractions. The system adapts to every phase of the clinical workflow, from prep and surgery to cleaning and transitions, creating calming or task-focused lighting. For grayscale imaging like X-rays and ultrasound, SCL uses magenta-toned light to deliver exceptional contrast and resolution, ensuring precise visibility and supporting every aspect of surgical care.

Developed with OR teams

Surgical Contrast Light was co-developed with clinical experts and refined by BrainLit’s R&D team to meet the demands of critical procedures, including minimally invasive surgery (MIS), endoscopy, interventions, angiography, radiology, and ultrasound. It delivers precise illuminance, color rendering (CRI), glare control, and surgical color temperature, ensuring optimal performance throughout every phase of the workflow.

SCL is designed for clinical workflows in every room

Room conditions
