BrainLit was founded in 2012 in Lund by Tord Wingren, one of the inventors of the Bluetooth technology. The company provides healthy environments by recreating daylight and personally adapted indoors light (BioCentric Lighting™). To date, the company has established BioCentric environments for more than 20.000 employees of customers all over the world. BioCentric Lighting™ is the basis of the company’s solution, resting on firmly established research and based on several patent groups. Currently BrainLit is engaging approximately 40 people, with its headquarters in Lund and subsidiaries in New York and Helsinki.

About the position

The Commercial Development team manages BrainLit’s product portfolio from the idea stage to product launch. As a Product Manager at BrainLit, you will be responsible for identifying what creates the most value for our customers as well as for the business of BrainLit. You will have your own area of expertise and work in close collaboration with the various internal teams to drive the product development process. You will serve as the liaison between different departments within the company as well as external contacts such as our customers and/or distributors. 

This position offers a unique opportunity to be involved and influence the products of BrainLit. 

We are now strengthening our Commercial Development team with three Product Managers, each with the responsibility of their own product.  

Your key tasks as Product Manager will be to  

  • Drive the product development process and act as the product owner towards other functions within BrainLit. 
  • Conduct market analysis and define, develop, and manage the product commercialization process in partnership with other internal teams. 
  • Identify, define, and refine target customer for product(s) 
  • Represent the voice of the customer in the product development process and ensure products meet customer and market wants, needs, and requirements. 
  • Prioritize features and control project scope to reach project objectives. 
  • Establish and maintain project-related documents such as project plan, schedule, backlog, and high-level requirements. 
  • Run beta and pilot programs with early-stage products to gain feedback and adjust product performance as needed. 
  • Drive the development of new products from already existing ideas or by identifying potential products through customer insights and market research. 
  • Guide development of product value propositions, marketing campaigns, and marketing assets together with marketing team. 
  • Be an expert on BrainLit’s products and provide daily operational support to both internal and external contacts. 
  • Support sales team in customer interactions as product owner. 

Education and Experience 

Since we have three different types of products, the background and experience requirements differ between the three roles. 

Product manager, BrainLit Alven 

You have a degree qualification preferably in business, marketing, engineering, or technology. To be successful, you need to have about 5 years’ experience of similar roles within product management as well as some previous experience of the topic of wellbeing and/or healthcare. It is considered a merit if you have previous experience from the lighting industry.  

Product Manager, BrainLit Software Services 

You have a degree qualification preferably in computer science combined with economics. To be successful, you need to have about 5 years’ experience of similar roles as well as some previous experience from the software industry in related areas. You also have experience or knowledge and interest in individual health and wellbeing. It is considered a merit if you have previous experience from the lighting industry.  

Product Manager, BrainLit UVen 

You have a degree qualification in business administration or in biomedicine or a MSc in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field with a strong business acumen and approach, or equivalent experience will also be considered. To be successful, you need to have about 5 years’ experience of product management or marketing experience in LED and/or UVC Lighting.  

For all roles: 

You need to have previous experience from working in an international organization, and it is a merit if you have worked in startup businesses and/or in matrix organization. You are proficient in spoken and written English and Swedish and are an excellent communicator with the ability to be diplomatic, listen, and collaborate.  

About you 

You have a strong business focus with well-developed analytical skills with a track record highlighting your ability to define and deliver industry-leading products that are aligned with commercial goals. You have a proven track record of successfully driving the product development process independently where you have shown a “time to market”-focus, and the ability to handle several parallel processes simultaneously. You have a track record highlighting your ability to define and deliver industry-leading products that are aligned with commercial goals. You can handle multiple stakeholders across an organization and to prioritize your work independently as well as to leverage external resources to get a job done.
