BrainLit signs deal with Castellum

The BioCentric Lighting™ system by BrainLit is installed in real estate company Castellum’s building at Scheelevägen 34, situated in the Ideon Science Park area of Lund. Simultaneously, BrainLit moves its main office to the same address, expanding their workspace from 600 square meters to 1.300 square meters.

BrainLit is the supplier of BioCentric Lighting™, a light system that solves a basic problem of today’s society: spending too much time indoors in lighting that does not follow the shift of natural light during day- and nighttime. BrainLit’s solution recreates natural daylight indoors, providing beneficial effects on the health and well-being of employees. BioCentric Lighting™ utilizes sensors and light recipes, based on the need of daylight for individuals or work groups. For the last three years, the system has been used in the neighboring building, where Castellum has its own office in Lund.

– Castellum is determined to create healthy environments for both tenants and employees. At BrainLit, we are delighted to stay part of that journey. At the same time, we will have the workspace needed to accommodate our extremely rapid growth as a company. We have simply outgrown our current office space after only one year, BrainLit CEO Niclas Möttus Olsson says.

In August, Castellum opened the first office building in the Nordic countries built according to the WELL international construction standard, Eminent in Hyllie in the south of Malmö.

The WELL construction standard puts the health and comfort of humans first, based on seven components: air, water, light, comfort, diet, exercise and well-being. BioCentric Lighting™ not only reaches but exceeds the demands put on lighting by the WELL standard.

– We are thrilled that BrainLit has decided to grow together with Castellum. BrainLit is an extremely exciting company, which we hope will not only be our tenants. We are convinced that their new office and laboratory facilities at Ideon will provide BrainLit with the means necessary for their current journey and give us both the foundation of a long-term partnership, says Emilia Hasselgren, lessor at Castellum. BrainLit moves into its new workspace on December 1st.
